Four major universities in Sierra Leone—IPAM, MMTU, UMITECH, UNIMAK and InnoSL an Entrepreneurship Support Organization (ESO) —are set to host professors, Faculty Leads and Administrators from leading European universities under the Sierra Leone Education in Entrepreneurial Pedagogy and Skills (SLEEK) Project, a programme co-funded by the European Union.
The high-powered delegation from FH JOANNEUM University in Austria and the University of Alicante in Spain is expected to arrive in Sierra Leone today, 24th November 2025, for a five-day engagement that runs until 28th November 2025. All key sessions will be held at the UMITECH European Union Hall.

The visiting European experts will continue intensive training-of-trainers sessions aimed at strengthening Sierra Leone’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Their mission focuses on transforming entrepreneurship education and narrowing the gap between academia and the business sector.
The SLEEK Project, which runs from 15th January 2025 to 14th January 2028, seeks to redefine how entrepreneurship is taught, learned, and practiced across Higher Education Institutions and community training environments. The initiative has attracted significant attention in Sierra Leone since its launch.
Since the project began, the European partner universities have hosted several high-level delegations from Sierra Leone in Austria and Spain. This time, the European team is in Sierra Leone to continue the training-of-trainers programme and deepen knowledge-sharing efforts.
Reflecting on the previous engagement in Europe, One of the beneficiaries, expressed appreciation for the international exposure, noting that such collaborations enhance their skills on the SLEEK Project and advance entrepreneurial education in the country.
“This initiative provides Sierra Leonean lecturers with invaluable exposure to innovative pedagogical approaches,” he said.
The SLEEK Project brings together Sierra Leone’s top universities and reputable European institutions to foster partnerships that aim to revolutionize entrepreneurial pedagogy and empower the next generation of innovators.
