The Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed Mr. Abdul Karim Bangura, popularly known as AKB, as the new Team Manager of the National Senior Men’s Football Team, Leone Stars.

The decision was confirmed on Saturday 16th August 2025 during an Executive Committee meeting at the FA’s headquarters in Freetown.

In announcing the appointment, the SLFA extended its congratulations to Mr. Bangura while calling on football stakeholders and the general public to give him their fullest support as he takes on this important national duty.

Mr. Bangura assumes the role with immediate effect, taking over at a time when Leone Stars are preparing for crucial international fixtures. His appointment is expected to strengthen the administrative and managerial framework of the national team as the country continues its quest for success in continental and global football.
