The Leadership & Governance Society at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone, is set to host a major symposium on Wednesday, July 23rd, under the theme “Bridging the Gap.”

The event, which will be held on the 6th Floor of the Campus New Building, aims to empower students by equipping them with tools to maximise their academic and personal growth while offering a clear lens into the dynamics of the corporate world.

Organisers say the symposium is designed to foster resilience, adaptability, and strategic self-improvement among students, with particular emphasis on identifying personal strengths, overcoming academic and professional challenges, and developing a mindset geared toward long-term success.

Beyond self-development, the symposium will provide students with critical exposure to corporate culture, guiding them on how to navigate career paths, understand workplace expectations, and build effective professional networks.

As this is part of its broader objective, the Leadership & Governance Society hopes to use this platform to close the disconnect between university learning and real-world application—bridging the often-cited gap between academic excellence and employability.

Interested participants and members of the public can contact the organisers via +232 75 846321 for further information.
