Alhaji Dausy Jalloh, prominent businessman and husband of Admire Bio—niece of President Julius Maada Bio—has threatened legal action against the Sierra Leone Police over claims linking him to a major drug trafficking suspect.

Jalloh’s warning follows the arrest of Santigie Bangura on June 22, 2025, at the Fallah Checkpoint along the Bo-Tiama highway in the southern province. Bangura was reportedly caught transporting a large quantity of the illegal substance known as kush, allegedly destined for Kenema.

Shortly after the arrest, reports began circulating on social media and in some local newspapers suggesting that Bangura had named Jalloh as the individual who sent him to sell the drugs.

Jalloh has vehemently denied the accusation, stating that he has never met or had any dealings with the suspect.“I have no connection whatsoever with Santigie Bangura,” Jalloh said. “After hearing that my name was being mentioned, I personally went to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to seek clarity, but I was told the suspect was not in their custody. The police have not contacted me at any point during this investigation.”Jalloh described the reports as part of a recurring smear campaign against him and his wife. He referenced previous incidents where similar accusations were made, accusing certain media outlets of spreading unfounded allegations without evidence.

He has now issued a stern warning to the police, demanding a thorough and transparent investigation into the case. He insists that if the police fail to charge the suspect or identify the real individuals behind the operation, he will take legal action to protect his name and reputation.“The police must ensure this matter is investigated properly. If they fail to do so and continue to allow my name to be dragged into this, I will have no choice but to sue,” Jalloh declared.

As the matter continues to attract public interest, there has been no official response from the Sierra Leone Police regarding Jalloh’s claims or the progress of the investigation.
