The leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) this afternoon held a strategic meeting with representatives from the United Nations Needs Assessment Mission (NAM), comprising officials from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), and other development partners.

The high-level engagement took place at the APC’s national headquarters in Freetown and centered on discussions around the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the Tripartite Committee report.

The Tripartite Committee was established to review and assess Sierra Leone’s electoral processes, with the aim of enhancing transparency, fairness, and inclusivity.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of the full and timely implementation of the report’s recommendations as a critical step towards ensuring a credible, free, and fair electoral process in the lead-up to the 2028 general elections.

The APC leadership expressed its commitment to democratic reforms and reiterated its belief that collaboration with international partners remains vital for strengthening Sierra Leone’s democratic institutions.

Representatives from the UN and other development agencies reaffirmed their support for the ongoing electoral reforms and pledged continued technical and advisory assistance.
