President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Mohammed Foday Yumkella as Sierra Leone’s new Ambassador to Guinea.

This comes following a recent scandal involving the Sierra Leone Embassy in Conakry. The previous ambassador was recalled after Guinean authorities discovered seven suitcases containing suspected cocaine in an embassy vehicle.

In response to the scandal, President Bio, through his office, announced in a press release issued on Monday, 25th February 2025, the appointment of a new Ambassador to Guinea, aiming to restore trust and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.
