IPAM to Launch the first Centre of Excellence and Entrepreneurship in Sierra Leone

The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), a constituent of the University of Sierra Leone, is set to make history with the official launch of its Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEEI) this morning, Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

This groundbreaking event, which will be held at the Tower Hill Campus at 10:00 a.m., marks a significant leap forward in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in Sierra Leone.

The event will feature a flag-hoisting ceremony, symbolizing IPAM’s commitment to empowering students and contributing to the nation’s economic development.

The CEEI represents a bold initiative by IPAM to create a dynamic space for students to explore business ideas, develop entrepreneurial skills, and bring innovative solutions to real-world problems.

The Centre is expected to serve as a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators, providing them with the tools and mentorship needed to thrive in the competitive business environment.

According to IPAM’s Deputy Registrar, this Centre embodies the institution’s vision of driving academic and professional growth through innovation, aligning with global trends in higher education.

This major development is credited to the visionary leadership of Professor Dr. Lebbie, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone, whose tenure has seen remarkable progress at both the university and IPAM.

His commitment to advancing the institution’s infrastructure and academic offerings has paved the way for this historic launch.

Equally instrumental is the dynamic leadership of Professor Mariam Conteh Morgan, IPAM’s Deputy Vice Chancellor. Her relentless efforts have brought the Centre of Excellence to life, making IPAM the first institution in Sierra Leone to establish such a facility dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation.

This achievement reflects her dedication to enhancing the institution’s role in national development and ensuring that students are equipped with the skills and opportunities to succeed in today’s fast-paced, innovation-driven economy.

The Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation is poised to not only elevate IPAM’s profile but also contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone by nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs.
