Professor Aiah Lebbie Appointed as Substantive Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sierra Leone

The University of Sierra Leone has officially appointed Professor Aiah Lebbie as the substantive Vice Chancellor and Principal, effective July 19, 2024. This announcement follows his earlier appointment as Acting Vice Chancellor and Principal earlier this year.

Prof. Lebbie’s appointment as the substantive Vice Chancellor was based on the outcome of an interview process as prescribed in the Act, in which he ranked first and was recommended for appointment.

In his previous acting capacity, Professor Lebbie has been recognized for his commitment to academic excellence and institutional development. His substantive appointment is seen as a step towards stabilizing the leadership of the University of Sierra Leone and ensuring continuity in its strategic direction.
