IPAM to Host Ohio University Delegation Today

The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) at the University of Sierra Leone (USL) is set to host a delegation from Ohio University (OU) for a pivotal meeting aimed at building international collaboration. This visit marks a significant step in strengthening academic and administrative ties between the two institutions.

IPAM has seen a steady increase in international partnerships under the leadership of Prof. Miriam Conteh-Morgan within a span of two years.  Preparations are underway for the meeting scheduled on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at noon, in the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room at IPAM. The Ohio University delegation will include distinguished members: Associate Vice Provost for Global Affairs, Dr. Gillian Ice; Vicki Seefeld West, Associate Director of International Admissions (Undergraduate Admissions) and Prof Assan Sarr who has been coordinating with the University of Sierra Leone- IPAM.

The visit is part of a broader effort by IPAM to expand its international partnerships. Over the past two years, IPAM has been actively engaging in collaborations that enhance educational opportunities and institutional development. This meeting will bring together key stakeholders from IPAM, Fourah Bay College (FBC), and the School of Postgraduate Studies to discuss areas of mutual interest and potential support.

The agenda for the meeting will cover critical areas for collaboration, which are expected to include academic exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and administrative support strategies. This strategic engagement aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions to enhance educational quality and institutional capacity.

Professor Ice and the team will hold separate meeting at FBC with their DVC and Dean of School of Postgraduate Studies to explore further opportunities for collaboration across various academic disciplines.

IPAM’s proactive approach in seeking international partnerships shows its commitment to global education standards and its mission to provide high-quality education and research opportunities.
