On the 4th of May 2024, ECOBANK Sierra Leone convened a significant town hall meeting at the Freetown Auditorium Center, hosting members of the Fullah Business Community. The purpose of the gathering was to foster closer ties and explore avenues for economic advancement in Sierra Leone
The chairman’s opening remarks, Augustine Sankoh, highlighted the vital role of the Fullah tribal community in driving the country’s economic growth. He expressed ECOBANK’s pride in collaborating with the community to address their financial needs and contribute to overall economic development.
The Executive Director of the Bank, Moses Winston Williams reiterated ECOBANK’s commitment to promoting financial inclusivity and revealed the bank’s extensive presence across 33 countries. He emphasized the town hall meeting’s objective to positively impact lives and foster economic progress through strategic partnerships with the Fullah community.
Mohamed Sajor Jalloh, the Head of Fullah Tribal Community) conveyed his gratitude to ECOBANK for recognizing and choosing to engage with the Fullah community. He encouraged community members to prioritize ECOBANK’s services and assured the bank of their support. Transparency was highlighted as a fundamental principle guiding their collaboration. He also highlighted Ecobank’s contributions to the Fullah community during the blessed month of Ramadan by donating food items to the community.
Haja Isatu Jalloh, Head of the Fullah Women’s Group and a fortunate winner of the grand prize of the Save and Win promotion grand draw in December 2023, lauded Ecobank for its transparency and integrity, particularly in the draw as a testament to the bank’s credibility.
Leonard Taylor Pearce, Kate Thompson, Victor Williams, and other ECOBANK representatives delivered an informative presentation on the bank’s diverse range of products and services. Key offerings such as ECOBANK Cards, mobile banking, USSD code, trade finance instruments, and cash management solutions were showcased and highlighting the bank’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
The town hall meeting concluded on a positive note, underscoring the importance of dialogue and collaboration between ECOBANK Sierra Leone and the Fullah Business Community.
Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to transparency and pledged to work together towards advancing economic development initiatives in Sierra Leone.
