FIFA Council Member, Madam Isha Johansen on Friday 13 October 2023, led a high-powered FIFA Delegation to the Republic of Liberia and the Republic of Sierra Leone for the FIFA/ Mano River Union (MRU) Football for Peace Initiative Project.
She was received at the Liberia International Airport by Ambassador Maria G. Harrison, the Secretary General of the Mano River Union and other Football stakeholders in the sub-region.
According information, the joint MRU-FIFA Mission will then pay a courtesy call on the government of Liberia authorities and later head to Sierra Leone to meet with government of Sierra Leone authorities to conduct a site assessment for the proposed MRU Football for Peace Village at Malema, Sierra Leone, the birthplace of the MRU
Meanwhile a cross section of Sierra Leone delegation will join their counterpart to visit FIFA Project site on 14 October 2023.
