The leading mobile company in Sierra Leone Orange-SL in its drive to support ‘Digital Inclusion’ and enhance technology in schools, has on Friday 21st July 2023, donated Five New Desktop computers to the Rogbaneh Secondary school for girls.
The occasion was witnessed by key stakeholders including the Mayor, Chief Adminstrator. Former Mayor of the Makeni City Council, SLTU, teachers and students.
Orange-SL is very keen on empowering the young generation by creating a viable learning platform digital platform that will teach young children the arts of technology, innovation and science.
The Desktop computers will tap into the potential of girls at Rogbaneh secondary school and empower them as literates in computer skills.
The principal of Rogbaneh Secondary school for Girls, in behalf of parents and the administration thanked Orange-SL for such a wonderful gesture. The principal went on to say that girls are the foundation of the country’s future and as we are in the world of technology, girls of today need all the help they could get in navigating through the technological world.
Parents were also urged to encourage their kids to learn more about science and technology, as it is an exciting tech-filled adventure as they can learn the art of web development, 3D printing, and entrepreneurship – coding interactive stories to creating websites, designing in 3D, as technology offers a unique blend of creativity, innovation, and skill-building.
The event climaxed with the official handing over of the desktop computers by the Orange-SL delegates to the administration of Rogbaneh secondary school for girls.
