Thank you Ambassador Ibrahim Sorie for making me know the true personality of Dr Samura Kamara
I am a brother to Ambassador Ibrahim Sorie and it no secret that we hailed from the north, Kambia District to be specific.
I had always voted APC not until at a time when I think we should have our own brother from Kambia to be President at the time, and that warranted my support for Kandeh of NGC in the 2018 polls with grave regrets .
I was at the back of the house when my brother Ambassador Ibrahim Sorie called me saying he is having a very big stranger in the person of Dr samura Kamara who will enter his compound in the next few minutes but he wants the visit to be very quiet. With no curiosity or interest in my brother’s request for my presence , I laughed him out though I joined him later .
Few minutes after, Dr samura Kamara arrived with two vehicles and quietly entered the compound. We welcomed him and appreciated him and his entourage on behalf of the bereaved family, friends and people of Rokupr , Magbema chiefdom Kambia District. Without wasting time , he made clear the purpose of his visit, that he was there to join the family in mourning and to sympathize with them for the loss of their loved one.
He gave kasankay and donated hundreds of facemasks as way contributing in the fight against covid 19. He urged all of us to adhere to the health protocols. He told stakeholders of the APC in kambia to be steadfast in pursuance of reforms in the APC. He said “*The success or failure of all work in the district is determined by the ambitions , thinking and the working practices of the executive, women and those young officials who are now victims of an unfortunate governance every Sierra Leonean is suffering from. The executive, women and the young officials of the party must fully use their brains, dare to explore and boldly push their work in conformity with party protocols. While advocating for a clean party with integrity,we must also differentiate illegal behavior and discipline violations from mistakes made in the course of reforms”
Dr Samura noted the importance to keep up the enthusiasm of genuine reformers and encourage officials and stakeholders that the people are anxiously waiting for APC to make the decision as the first step to act for the people who are now tired with the current state of affairs. We must punish wrongdoing and be good in re-examining our past by noting were we went wrong in not just Kambia but other districts for necessary corrections and actions. He noted .
He concluded with the quote that made my day ” I am fully confident that through our tireless efforts and hard work to unite our party , we can create a miracle of the Weak hatchling bird in our country”. He urged them to actualized the wish, dreams and aspirations of the leader and chairman of the party to ensure we get our people out of poverty , intimidation, bad governance, corruption and a host of other bad things he highlighted.
By the time he wants to wrap up his message, the talk was all over the township that Dr samura was around and people started pumping in which left him with no choice but to leave earlier than planned.
