On Wednesday 15th June 2022, Bonthe district hosted the much anticipated Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s academic trophy in a grand style.
The district of the Seating President showcased high level of willingness and determination during the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Academic Trophy in making sure the free quality education is enviable and very successful.
It was indeed a show of academic explosion wherein young academic talents where unearthed via the debate and quiz among secondary schools.
The event was hosted in Mattru Jong Bonthe District.
The drama in Bonthe District attracted over a thousand sierra Leoneans including pupils, parents, teachers and unlookers.
The inter-secondary school quiz and debate organised by ibrahim Brima Swarray’s academic foundation is the most popular academic event that is aimed at complimenting President Bio’s free quality education.
The district of the President was something else yesterday as their show of readiness and academic delivery sparks a positive threat to sierra Leoneans that their is light at the end of the tunnel.
The entire event was highly competitive as competitors gave it all to show to the nation that indeed, the free quality education is bringing result to the nation.
With a star prize of Ten Million Leones,Seven schools in Bonthe district participated in the quiz competition including Bonthe secondary school, Islamic call Society Junior secondary school, Centennial Secondary School, St.Joseph Secondary School among others.
Islamic call Society Junior Secondary school won best quiz team and best quizer Alieu Vandy, while Sogbini secondary school emerged second best quiz team and competitor Jacob Aruna and Centennial Junior secondary school emerged third best quiz team.
Bonthe Secondary school clinched best debate team and competitor Admire H Senesie while St.Joseph secondary school Tihun won second best quiz team and competitor Ibrahim Bangalie accompanied by Islamic Call society in the third place.
*The best quiz team won the sum of Le 2,000,000,second best quiz team Le 1,200,000, third best quiz team Le 800,000 and best quizer Le 1,000,000 and same for the debate*.
Motivating the audience especially pupils present,the President of Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Academic Foundation who doubles as Chief Executive of the National Public Procurement Authority, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray (MCIPS) admonished parents to keep throwing their support to their kids on their academic work for the good of Sierra Leone.
He called on parents to put an end to early marriage so that more women can be educated in society.
Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray stated that President Bio is a trusted Leader and therefore deserves to be praised.
He said the quiz and debate competition is part of the promises made by President Bio during his campaign as a way to strengthen education in the country.
He called on the people of Bonthe District to continue the zest they have in pushing the dream of President Bio.
He reiterated that it is the dream of the President to see that everyone achieves quality education and therefore the process needs a collective responsibility.
Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray thanked the people of Bonthe District for making the entire event a milestone in Bonthe.
