Three Remanded for Alleged $7,000 Theft at Kei Kamara’s Residence

Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 has ordered the remand of three individuals accused of stealing $7,000 from the residence of renowned footballer Kei Kamara.

The accused—Abubakarr Turay, Fatmata Bangura, and their daughter, Kadiatu Turay—were reportedly employed as caretakers at Kamara’s home when the alleged theft occurred.

According to court records, the incident took place on January 15, 2025, at Fadika Drive, Hill Station, Freetown.

The trio faces two charges: conspiracy to commit a crime and larceny, both under the Larceny Act of 1916.During the court proceedings, Abubakarr Turay denied the allegations, while Fatmata Bangura and Kadiatu Turay admitted to the offense.

The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Aminatu Daboh, requested an adjournment, citing the need for additional witness testimonies.

With no legal representation and no bail application submitted on their behalf, the accused were remanded in custody. Magistrate Kekura scheduled the next hearing for January 31, 2025, as the case continues to unfold.
