SLRSA ED and Transport Minister End Conducted Tour of AUTOSPEC & APF Facilities

Konta Line, Koya Chiefdom, Port Loko District The Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh together with the Minister of Transport and Aviation Hon Kabineh Kallon has on Thursday 8th April 2021, ended a conducted tour of construction site of Autospec Sierra Leone State-of-the-art vehicle Fitness facilities at Konta line, along the Waterloo-Masiaka highway, Koya Chiefdom, Port Loko District.

Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh said as the Lead Agency in promoting Road Safety In Sierra Leone, the SLRSA will work in close collaboration with the AUTOSPEC team to see that they complete the construction work in time for operations start in earnest

Mr. Sannoh however assured Autospec team of SLRSA’s commitment to ensuring strict compliance when the Facilities would have been completed.

The Minister, Honorable  Kabineh kallon  reaffirmed government’s commitment in ensuring Safer Roads and Mobility;  Safer Vehicles, and that of post crash response. He noted with certainty that the AUTOSPEC  project is expected to be completed by the end of the year and the SLRSA Management would ensure strict compliance. Honorable Kabineh Kallon said, the project when completed would drastically reduce the number of derelict vehicles on our roads and thus reduce road crash.

“As a responsible government, We are concerned about the safety and well-being of Road Users. The Autospec and Auto Parts Flanders – APF projects will not only get rid of derelict vehicles on our roads, both projects will to a very large extent help accelerate  government’s revenue generation drive for socioeconomic development”. Hon Kallon said.

The Finance Manager of the AUTOSPEC Rami Chalhoub said the facilities when completed would comprised a Training School for Automobile Engineers; Vehicle Fitness Centre, Production of Securitized Vehicle Number Plates and RFID License Stickers and biometric Drivers License with the best production equipment.

Mr. Rami Chalhoub said SLRSA’s key function is to Coordinate and Regulate development in the transport sector and the Autospec is ready and willing to work inline with that.
