The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely death of David Williams, a dedicated camera operator with the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

The tragic incident occurred today, Tuesday, 27th May 2025, along the Kambia Highway in Northern Sierra Leone.In a somber announcement issued by the SLAJ Secretariat, the association described Williams as a brother and colleague whose loss will be deeply felt within the journalism and media fraternity.

David Williams served diligently at SLBC, contributing to the station’s visual storytelling and media coverage across the country. His commitment to the profession and behind-the-scenes work made him a respected figure among his peers.

“SLAJ is saddened to announce the death of our brother and colleague, David Williams… May the Lord have mercy upon him and grant him eternal rest in Perfect Peace,” the statement read.

Further details surrounding the circumstances of the accident were not immediately available.
