The Proprietor and Managing Editor of Night Watch Newspaper Emmanuel Christian Thorli has been arrested and detained last night following a recent Newspaper publication.

According to reliable sources, key among his Publications which landed him in Police Net is on Wednesday February 21, 2024 With the Tiltle “ We cannot Wait For Bio to Continue in Power untill 2028- Sierra Leoneans
This not the first time the Controversial Journalist has been placed behind Bars for his Publications.

In December 2022, the said Managing Editor of the Nightwatch Newspaper was also detained by the Sierra Leone Police at the Criminal Investigation Department.

Meanwhile, Editor, Thorli, aka Alpha, had once disclosed that he “was manhandled by some Njala University (NU) staff” on Sunday 11 September 2022 at Ellen Street, Ebo Town in Waterloo, Western Rural District. SLAJ Further condemned the said assault on the Night Watch Managing Editor by Njala University Staff
There has been mixed reactions from the Public but the Sierra Leone Sports Writers Association have condemned the arrest and calls for his immediate release from detention.
