A newly published book is set to ignite national discourse on governance and leadership by providing an in-depth analysis of the administration of former Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma.

Written by the Council of Progressives, a research-based think tank, the book evaluates Koroma’s tenure from 2007 to 2018, examining the policies that shaped Sierra Leone’s development trajectory.

Through a data-driven approach, the book explores the administration’s impact on key sectors, including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and governance.

It highlights major policy interventions such as the expansion of Sierra Leone’s electricity supply from 10MW to 300MW, the establishment of the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) to address youth unemployment, and initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural production—resulting in a significant increase in rice self-sufficiency from 61% to 92%.

Beyond policy achievements, the book underscores Koroma’s role in democratic governance, examining his leadership principles and post-presidency engagement.
