Early Childhood/ Nursery Teacher Job Duties:
As an Early Childhood/ Nursery Teacher of Narnia Educational Group you are expected to carry out the following responsibilities:
· Teach the children in the classroom as directed.
· Provide care and protection for assigned children.
· Supervise the children’s play activities by; participating with children in group games; enforcing safety rules; encouraging children to develop positive social relationships with each other, with classroom staff and with visitors.
· Work with staff to develop each individual child’s potential. Bring to the
attention of the Director special problems in adjustment, learning, social
interactions or physical functioning of individual children.
· Maintain assigned progress records on the emotional, physical, social, and
intellectual development of children.
· Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, training sessions, conferences and workshops.
· Arrange the environment and prepare supplies for activities. Ensure that
equipment and supplies are accessible and in good condition
· Make daily observations of health of children, reporting conditions that
require attention.
· Perform related duties as assigned.

Supervision

The Early Childhood/Nursery Teacher is supervised by the Head Teacher.

Education and Experience
· The ideal candidate should have a degree/diploma in Education.
· The ideal candidate should have a commendable experience in working with
children or in large teams. She must possess Great morals and values,
problem solving skills, negotiation skills, team building capabilities,
assertiveness, creativity and good leadership skills.
· At least 1-3 years’ experience in the Sierra Leone Job market.

Qualities and Skills
· Fluent in oral and written English.
· Excellent communication, feedback and reporting skills.
· Must be creative and flexible with good decision-making skills.
· Must be detailed oriented.
· Must exhibit High levels of patience, empathy, attentiveness, dependability
and trustworthiness.
· Ability to adapt to change.
· Should respect differences and must have good interpersonal skills.
· Must be open to new ways of learning or methods of developing personal
skills

                                               CAREGIVER

CAREGIVER Job Duties:
As the Caregiver of Narnia Daycare you are expected to carry out the following
responsibilities:
· Physical caregiving includes napping, feeding, bath rooming, etc. Requires
lifting children, equipment and/or supplies up to 40 pounds, getting down to child level and sitting on the floor. Requires constant visual and auditory
monitoring of children.
· Prepare bottles, snacks, and lunches for children as needed.
· Move around with children at their pace and be actively involved with
children rather than just watching them.
· Encourage children to explore their environment.
· Participate in individual, small group, and large group activities with children
(e.g. art, flannel board stories, reading, singing, water play, cooking).
· Know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.
Prevent, circumvent, and deal with problem behaviors appropriately and
effectively.
· Help children make a smooth transition between home and Center (at arrival and departure).
· Respect each child as an individual (e.g. be sensitive to individual needs and routines; avoid discussing an individual child’s behavior with anyone in front of children; laugh with children, not at them)

Supervision
The Caregiver is supervised by the Head Teacher

Education and Experience
· The ideal candidate should have a School Diploma/ WASCCE.
· The ideal candidate should have a commendable experience in working with children or in large teams.
· She must possess Great morals and values
· At least 1 year experience in the Sierra Leone Job market.

Qualities and Skills
· Should have a good understanding of English
· Excellent communication skills.
· Must Exhibit High levels of patience, empathy, attentiveness, dependability
and trustworthiness.
· Ability to adapt to change.
· Should respect differences and must have good interpersonal skills.
· Must be open to new ways of learning or methods of developing personal
skills
