In September 2022 Councillor Sheku Turay popularly known as Ice T was charged for incitement in connection with a statement he made in January 2021 during a Press Conference at the Freetown City Council in which he pointed out that the Chief Administrator is not fair to elected Councilors.
He was, however, admitted to bail last year and on the 24th April, 2023 he appeared in court and strangely the Magistrate Mark Ngegba adjourned the matter to today, 25th April, 2023. When he arrived in court this morning he informed the Magistrate that he will be going to ECSL to be nominated in order to contest for a Ward in the East End of Freetown .
Lamentably, the Magistrate cancelled his bail and sent him to prison thereby preventing him from being nominated today in Freetown.
