Lawyer A. Sandy Donates Examination Materials to BECE Candidates in 016

The vibrant female-in-law, who doubles as an Aspiring candidate for a Parliamentary seat in Constituency 016 Nongowa Chiefdom Kenema District, solicitor Alice K. Sandy on Friday 22nd July 2022, donated over 700 mathematical sets and other learning materials to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Eastern Region. The donation formed part of measures to ensure that no candidate lacked the basic learning inputs required for the examination. In addition to the mathematical sets, the candidates were also presented with pens and success cards as part of her well-wishes to motivate them ahead of the exams.

Junior High School final year students across the country are expected to write their final exams (BECE) from Monday, 25th July to Friday, 29th July 2022.

 Speaking at a short ceremony held at the various School grounds in the entire Constituency 016 on Friday, July 22, 2022, the upcoming Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) symbol aspirant,  Lawyer Alice Korya Sandy Esq tasked the candidates to do their very best to pass the exams as her office is ever ready to assist them to further their education and achieve their dreams to the fullest.

Alice K. Sandy Esq admonished the candidates to reflect soberly on all that they have learnt as well as what they were taught by their teachers and write the examination in confidence. She believed that, with the level of determination and preparedness exhibited by the students, they will all come out of the examination with flying colours. The would-be Member of Parliament comes 2023 also cautioned the candidates against exam malpractices. She asked them not to panic but to read the questions well before answering.

She explained that Free Quality Education is an important component as it maintains the Democratic principles of any government; as a result of the Free Quality Education which was implemented by President Julius Maada Bio, more than two million children she said now have access to primary and secondary education. She lauded President Bio for delivering 80% of its manifesto commitment on the Free Quality Education within four years.”The Country’s President, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio flashing program, which is the Free Quality Education has been described as a pro-poor service as it has greatly helped to empower children whose parents are poor and cannot afford to pay their tuition fees. Since the President took up office in April 2018 as head of state, he didn’t waste any time but officially launched the Free Quality Education in August and since then, it has encouraged more pupils to gain free admission to schools”, she explained.

The principal for Kenema District Council Junior Secondary School at Talia Mr Abu Kamara, receiving the items for distribution to all candidates at the examination centre in the district, thanked the intending Parliamentary female aspirant for her continuous support towards the development of education in the Constituency 016. He also advised the candidates to observe the rules and regulations for the conduct of the examination and eschew examination malpractices to avoid the cancellation of their papers. He also appealed to the candidates to look up to Madam Alice K. Sandy Esq as their role model and emulate her shining example.

 The candidates expressed their profound appreciation to the upcoming brilliant female politician-in-law for the kind gesture and promised to do their best to pass the exams.

 The ceremony was attended by the SLPP Executives in Constituency 016, the Head of media and communication Mr Mannah Massaquio, Chiefs and elders, the Campaign Committee member of Madam Sandy Esq and more.

 She also sends her wishes to the students in the entire Constituency 016 and Kenema District at large.
