This medium’s attention was caught by one of the untold and unusual incidents in Sierra Leone which involves a young seventeen (17)years old boy, Lamin Marah, said to belong to the Kuranka tribe and a Muslim by religion, who was caught in the act of having a sexual affair with another boy said to be his friend. This incident took place in the northern town of Kabala.
In order to get at the bottom of the issue, one of this medium’s ace reporters decided to delve into this interesting episode by thoroughly conducting an investigation into this interesting matter that borders around the father of Lamin surprisingly discovering his son having a sexual affair with another boy of his same age group, commonly known as UG. This incident occurred live in Lamin’s family house.
According to what our reporter discovered, Lamin Marah and UG have both been friends for a considerable period of time . As a matter of fact ,they were very close school friends who were in the habit of exchanging visits and were considered to be so by family members and other residents in the community where they were residing. In fact most think that their regular meetings was to discuss school work.
It happened that during the course of their friendship UG succeeded in convincing Lamin Marah to start practising homosexuality. They became partners and decided to keep such a tight secret. From time to time they will meet and have sexual intercourses, sometimes at UG’s house or that of Lamin. Such had been going on for quite a considerable period of time and from what was learnt it seems both of them were enjoying the experience.
However, one day both of them ran out of luck when on that fateful day while on the height of having a sexual affair inside Lamin’s room, the latter’s father accidentally entered the room and caught them red handed, enjoying themselves. The father was dumbfounded and shocked beyond description and being a fervent Muslim, it was a very ungodly sight which prompted him to recite certain koranic verses.
Knowing the magnitude of the offence they have committed, Lamin Marah, wasted no time but dashed through the window for his safety. He was successful in doing so and fled to another northern town of Makeni where he resided for few days until the 26th August 2016 when he boarded a bus to travel to Guinea in a panicky mood according to close source.
Lamin’s situation was quite understandable when cognisance is taken of the fact that in this part of the world the practice of homosexuality is highly frowned upon and considered to be an abomination to the highest degree. In fact, there have been one or two instances in the past when some of those who were caught practising it were lynched to death.
Lamentably, UG was unlucky to escape and it is believed that because of the way he was manhandled he could not survive for too long as few days after the incident he unfortunately passed away.
In the case of Lamin what made the matter even worse was because he hails from an Islamic background and was expected to serve as a shining example and a beacon of hope that many should emulate. But for him to degenerate to such a low level of sexual immorality could a very grave offence for which he must pay a high price.
Homosexuality and lesbianism have no place in the Sierra Leonean society. They are considered to be bad Western practices and should not in the least be tolerated.
What next could befall Lamin Marah when he is caught by residents of his community and even the Sierra Leone Police could be anyone’s guess as he had been declared wanted.
