Information from the Sierra Leone Saudi Arabia Embassy has revealed that a total of 5 Sierra Leonea Americans have died in the 2024 Hajj in Makkah

According to the Press Attache of the SierraLeone Saudi Embassy Abu Bakarr Bah, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Alhaji Mohamed Haji-Kella confirmed that the Five Pilgrims who lost their lives are carrying American Passports due the Hajj but are Sierra Leonean descent.

He said the Saudi Authorities say the Pilgrims died due to heat weather.

He said the American Consulate in Makkah is following up with Saudi Authorities regarding the Identification of the bodies for befitting burial or repatriation.
