In a demonstration of true servant leadership and unwavering commitment to the people, the top APC flagbearer Candidate, and prominent lawyer Ady Macauley, visited the Milton Margai School for the Blind in the early hours of today Wednesday, offering both material and moral support to the students and administration.

As the nation observes both Lent and the Holy Month of Ramadan, Macauley emphasized the significance of remembering and uplifting the most vulnerable in society, stating that his visit was not just about giving, but about speaking hope and courage into them and demonstrating leadership that prioritizes the welfare of every citizen.

During the visit, Macauley donated food items including rice, oil and onions, acknowledging that while these items may not be much, in the eyes of God, it is the intention and consistency in service that matter most.

He assured the school that this was not a one-time effort, but a stepping stone towards sustained engagement and continued support for their well-being. “Leadership is about showing up, listening, and acting, and I will continue to seek the welfare of these students and ensure their needs are not ignored,” Macauley affirmed.

The school’s Head Teacher, Sallieu Turay, expressed profound gratitude, commending Macauley’s unwavering commitment to service, leadership, and change. “His presence and generosity mean a lot to us. He has always shown great attributes of a leader who genuinely cares,” he remarked.Similarly, Andrew Lavalie, the Board Chairman of the school, highlighted the importance of such gestures, especially in times of financial uncertainty.

The Donation came at a critical moment that the school is facing some challenges with their subventions, and that contribution like Macauley’s are what help sustain the institution.

Adding a student’s perspective, Grace Divine Roberts, the Head Girl of the school, shared heartfelt appreciation on behalf of her peers. “We are deeply thankful for the kindness and thoughtfulness of Mr. Macauley and his team.

This support strengthens us and reminds us that we are not forgotten.”As Macauley departed, his message was clear: serving the people—especially the most vulnerable—must be a priority, not just during Lent and Ramadan, but always. His visit was not only an act of generosity but a strong statement of leadership, empathy, and political will—one that sets the tone for the kind of governance he envisions for Sierra Leone.
