APC USA Branch Boosts 2 Constituencies

The American Branch of the opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party over the weekend surprised two key constituencies in the Western Area of Freetown with the donation of 150 bags of rice during this difficult time in the country and also sympathized with victims of the recent flooding in constituency 116, Portee Community.

Making the donation, the APC Secretary General, Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh said with the suffering the people are facing coupled with the recent flooding that affected their community during which they lost all their properties, the USA Branch decided to come to their aid with the donation of rice and assured that the party would not abandon them.

According to Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, even if government arrests him and other executive members of the party, the APC will not die as the support base of the party is the grassroots. The APC Secretary General reiterated that one can never destroy the APC by arresting its leaders.

He commended the party’s USA Branch for the donation and the grassroots for their loyalty and unflinching support to the party even though 10 of their Members of Parliament (MPs) were removed from Parliament but clarified that because the party is law abiding and do now want war they would seek all legally available means to seek redress.

According to the APC Secretary General, the constituency does not have an MP but that the party’s branch in America decided to send the rice for them as they lost most of their belongings during the flooding, expressed thanks and appreciation to the USA branch, especially the women who spearheaded the donation in addition to the fact that they send rice to the party office monthly for distribution to the physically challenged and assured all of brighter days ahead of the party due to its solid grassroots support. He also informed that the chairman of the APC USA Branch hails from the constituency.  

The APC scribe quoted a female supporter in the constituency as recalling that when former President Ernest Bai Koroma was in power, she slept well because the country was totally safe unlike now when people are worried about their safety.

Ambassador Yansaneh acclaimed the leadership of the party at various levels including the Constituency Chairmen and Women, Chair ladies and Councillors for the unflinching support and continuous belief in the APC. He promised that rice would also be donated to all the other 10 affected communities whose MPs were removed from Parliament.

Chairman Med Kay, Regional Chairman of the APC, East -East, who received the rice expressed thanks and appreciation for the gifts by acclaiming the donors assuring that they would remain loyal to the party and that the rice would reach the beneficiaries. He said the people in the East will remain to be APC.

Isatu Kalloh, one of the flood victims in Constituency 116, expressed appreciation to the APC for such an intervention at a time like this when the flooding adversely affected them.

Ambassador Yansaneh and the US delegation which included Alhaji Ibrahim Sie, Chernor Mamadu Lamrana Jalloh and Cornelius Samuel Pilow  Manages from the New Jersey proceeded to constituency 110 where they did similar rice distribution.

A 56-year old woman said they are more than happy to receive the APC Secretary General in their constituency even when they don’t have an MP underlining that they would continue to be with the APC because the APC party is the true party for Sierra Leone.

The event was climaxed with the distribution of rice as everybody was happy to receive his/her own supply of rice.
