In a recent development, Mr. Abubakar Boxx Konteh, the Organizing Secretary for the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) in the North West Region, has been released from police custody.

Reports indicate that Konteh was granted bail following his detention. This comes after his arrest in March along with four other Sierra Leonean nationals by Guinean authorities in Conakry.

Konteh was extradited from Guinea to Sierra Leone on the 12th of April 2024. In a video that surfaced online, Guinean authorities were seen handing over Konteh to Sierra Leonean authorities
