The National Chairman and CEO of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, has called on party members across Sierra Leone to actively participate in the upcoming national census. Speaking at a fundraising dinner organized by the APC Western Region Chairladies at the East-End Paddies, Shell, on December 30, 2024, Chairman Mansaray emphasized the importance of the census for national development and the APC’s strategic positioning as a government-in-waiting.

He highlighted that accurate population data is essential for effective planning, resource allocation, and policy formulation—key components for any political party with aspirations of governing. Mansaray urged APC members to mobilize their communities to ensure maximum participation in the census, describing it as a “golden opportunity to secure accurate representation and pave the way for governance goals.”

“This census is not just a national exercise but a crucial step for us as a party to understand our population dynamics and prepare for the future,” Mansaray stated.

Since assuming the chairmanship of the APC, Minkailu Mansaray has spearheaded significant transformations within the party. Among his notable achievements is the introduction of a biometric ID card system—the first of its kind in the history of the APC or any political party in Sierra Leone. This innovation has enhanced transparency, streamlined membership processes, and strengthened the party’s internal structures.

Chairman Mansaray reaffirmed his commitment to modernizing the APC and ensuring it remains responsive to the needs of its members. He believes such advancements position the party as a credible alternative to the current administration.

Chairman Mansaray stressed that the census provides a critical platform for Sierra Leoneans to contribute to nation-building. He appealed to APC members to take the lead in educating and encouraging their communities to actively participate.

“This is a chance for the APC to demonstrate leadership at the grassroots level. The data collected will not only benefit the party but also ensure equitable resource distribution for all Sierra Leoneans,” he remarked.
