Unity Party has vehemently rejects the unjust ruling delivered by Justice Adrian Fisher on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, in the case between Unity Party vs PPRC.
A case marred by three years of deliberate and inexcusable delays. To date, Justice Fisher has not released a written copy of the ruling to the Unity Party’s legal team, further undermining public confidence in the judicial process.Matron Femi Claudius-Cole, leader of Unity Party, stated:
“This ruling—delivered after years of obstruction, in a manner that defies basic courtroom standards, and now withheld from our lawyers—epitomises the systemic bias and the broken judicial system we have endured.
Justice delayed is justice denied, and justice concealed is justice betrayed.”Following Unity Party’s unconstitutional exclusion from the 2023 general elections, the party exercised its legal right to seek redress through the High Court of Sierra Leone.
The Constitution mandates swift resolution of electoral disputes, yet despite filing promptly, the Unity Party was never permitted to present its case in court.
Matron Femi Claudius-Cole emphasised that: “The Unity Party remains unwavering in its commitment to upholding the rule of law and the democratic rights of all Sierra Leoneans. We demand the immediate release of this ruling to ensure transparency. Justice must not only be done – it must be seen to be done. I also call on all Sierra Leoneans to stand firm in demanding accountability and justice.”
