
Orange Sierra Leone has officially launched the 7th edition of the Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP) in Sierra Leone, aligning with the 15th edition of the competition across Africa and the Middle East. The initiative aims to foster social innovation and encourage local entrepreneurship.
Application Process and TimelineThe OSVP competition will officially open for submissions on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, and applicants from 17 Orange affiliates in Africa and the Middle East, including Sierra Leone, must apply for both National and International competitions.
The deadline for submission is May 18, 2025, and applications must be submitted via the official website: https://poesam.orange.com/en/.
Supporting Innovation and EntrepreneurshipOrange Sierra Leone, as a responsible corporate and social investor, is committed to contributing to human capital development, supporting social and environmental innovation, and fostering entrepreneurship in Sierra Leone. Since 2019, the OSVP prize has been awarded to projects in education, healthcare, e-commerce, and agriculture, with a strong emphasis on leveraging digital technology to drive sustainable development.
Competition Stages and PrizesNational StageFrom March 11 – May 18, 2025, applicants will compete at the national level in both the general and women’s categories. A national pitch competition will be held in August 2025, where winners will receive the following prizes:
NLe 200,000 – National Winner
NLe 120,000 – Women’s Winner
International StageWinners from each national competition will advance to the International Phase, where 10 finalists will be selected. A final jury of African tech influencers will then determine the top 3 winners of the OSVP International Grand Prize, set to be announced in October/November 2025.
In line with Orange’s commitment to gender equality, an International Women’s Prize will also be awarded for the fifth consecutive year to a woman-led project that enhances women’s independence, job creation, financial inclusion, and gender data collection.
The prizes for international winners are:€25,000 – 1st Place International Winner
€15,000 – 2nd Place International Winner
€10,000 – 3rd Place International Winner
€20,000 – Women’s International Winner
