Freetown’s Deputy Mayor, Kweku Lisk Esq., has arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, to represent Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr OBE at the invitation of Monrovia’s Mayor, John-Charuk Siafa, for the city’s annual Monrovia Day celebrations.

His visit underscores the growing partnership between the two West African capitals in fostering urban development and sustainability.A key highlight of the celebrations is the Monrovia Roundtable, a strategic forum aimed at addressing pressing urban challenges such as governance, environmental sustainability, and community development.

The forum seeks to promote actionable solutions to enhance the quality of life for residents in Monrovia and other participating cities.Deputy Mayor Lisk, accompanied by Freetown City Council’s Chief Councillor Zainab Conteh, will play an integral role in the event by participating in a panel discussion on Sustainable Communities.

He is expected to share insights from Freetown’s transformative development journey, particularly the successes and challenges of the Transform Freetown-Transforming Lives Development Plan.

His presentation will highlight the critical importance of community engagement in driving sustainable urban development and improving service delivery.
