Hon. Sengepoh Thomas to Replace Dr. Abass Bundu as Speaker of Parliament

Dr. Abass Bundu has recently resigned as speaker of Parliament and would be replaced by Deputy Speaker Sengepoh Paul Thomas or Mohamed Sidi Tunis, fresh from the Speakership of Ecowas Parliament.


The latest news is that Thomas is the chosen one by the party hierarchy and has received the endorsement,
Hon. Sidi Tunis, Former Ecowas Speaker, emphasized on the importance of Party unity over individual ambition in the succession of the speaker of Parliament.


Tunis clarified that the decision to appoint the deputy speaker as the speaker of Parliament is a unanimous decision.According to Sierra eye Sengepoh is known to be a hardliner, who may likely be complaint with the whims of revolutionaries within the Party.

It’s nearly 8 days left for Parliament to elect a new speaker of the sixth Republic Parliament. Any Parliamentary deliberation after April 30 without the election of the new speaker is an abuse of Sub-section 5 of section 79 of the 1991 constitution
